I leave in less than two weeks for my first ever bear hunt.

I've gone through my stuff several times trying to keep it light but not miss anything.

Not counting the bow, arrows, release I have the following in my Gut Hook fanny pack:

    Range finder
    Binos
    Two flashlights w/extra batteries
    Bow hook
Dead Down Wind field spray & wipes
    Thermacell w/plenty of pads
    hoist rope
    Bow hanger
    Rain gear
    video camera mount
    Video camera
    Still camera
    First aid kit
    Waterproof matches

Also on my belt I'll have a knife and either a .357 or .40 at the recommendation of the outfitter. I'm leaning towards the .357 since it's smaller.

Wow, I'm with you. I pack some stuff in but geez, how can somebody carry all that by themselves ???

The TP is an EXCELLENT idea and is been in my pack for a while. Been there, done that and learned a lesson...

We don't need to do that anymore. We can call it in or internet register the kill... The tags with the pre-printed numbers just need to be attached to the animal and the accompanying license needs to be on you...

The only issue is that the tags used to have neat adhesive strips that you could stick around the leg/antlers. Now you need to bring some tape or string and attach the thing...
