it is designed by hoyt to have a wider grip for a great holding area and is also supposed to work as a shock absorber!!!

    TEC "BRIDGE" STRUCTURE
TEC's design structure can be compared to a bridge.

Support trusses provide a stiff structure to prevent bending.
Without trusses, traditional risers bend and vibrate at the center (grip) area.
    TESTED. PROVEN. CONFIRMED.
All tests conducted with bows set at 104-ft. lbs. of stored energy and a 30" draw length. Results are confirmed at Hoyt's engineering and research lab using state-of-the-art analysis software and automated shooting and dry fire test equipment.

I can copy and paste too......

    Default TEC riser

Look on hoyt.com they have a good video. It basically directs the hand shock away from the grip, and adds strength to the riser. To any of you hoyt shooters out there, buy some CSS tunerz and strap them babies to your riser or limbs. They work! I have some on my trykon and you really notice a difference.

I'm crushed now hehehe...a good handle indeed. Well my UltraElite doesn't vibrate at all so maybe the shock absorber theory is right. Has nothing to do with the grip though JayAre, which is what all the correcting in your statement is about. If my bow is not level the grip feels terrible but if I'm all level it's pretty nice. Now I just have to get me to hold it more still. I'm almost good on stabilizer on the left side...still working on getting a better front system. It kicks up a teensy bit once in a while but I'm working on it.
