    Default Bowtech Equalizer

I need some thoughts for the experts.

I shot my Equalizer through the chronograph today and it shot 295fps at 59# with 27 DL and I am using a whisker biscuit and that is my question how much fps do you lose with a whisker biscuit.

I have been departing about going to a drop away, but I like the containment, but I am only going to be using the bow for Turkey, 3-D, & target.

Let me know your thoughts and be nice.

    Are you serious?

295 fps with a 59# bow at 27 inches????? WOW!!!!

Once I get over that ....... I have "heard" that you will only lose from 2-5 fps with the whisker.

What weight arrow are you shooting? That is amazing!

The 06' Alligence with fast cams, 27.5 d/l, 70 lbs and a 375 grain arrow is shooting at 293?????? If your bow is shooting that fast I would not worry that the whisker is slowing you down - that is for sure!

    Default Equalizer

    That is correct 295!!!

My 05 Allegiance at 78lbs, 27"DL is shotting 300fps and that is why I looked at the Equalizer. After about 40 3D targets that 78lbs starts getting HEAVY.

The rip cord drop away rest contains the arrow very well. you can set the rest in the up position so the arrow can't fall off, then when you shoot it stills falls away. My reason from switching from WB to drop away is it gave ME extremly better groups

I can say get rid of the WB!< If you are looking for speed> I went to a QAD drop away it is awesome.(Total containment) Just get some good mole skin for the forks or it burn off as it did with my Illusion. FAST>>>

    Default A little light maybe?

I know that they test bows at 5 grains per pound(IBO) but my opinion is that the bow isn't gonna last very long. Have you checked the stiffness of your arrow (spine or spline) whatever. Shoot a bare shaft out of that bow and see where it goes compared to a good group in a target. My Supertech is 59lbs, 390 grns (100grn tip), 29 or so draw and 286fps. My bare shaft is touching one of the arrows in my group. That tells me that it is set up correctly and have the right arrow, (weight, spine, length combo) as to not damage the bow from not getting enough resistance. Just my oppinoin, see what the pro's say.

    Default Thanks

Sportsman thanks for the input and i will give that a try. I was having that problem with 500 Lightspeeds when they were 27", but i just shorten them down to 26" to meet the spec that Easton calls for, but i will give the bare shaft a test.

    Thanks again for the input.

I really like my Vital Bow Gear KazAway drop rest. Great containment too.

How is the draw on the Equalizer? Hand shock? Vibration? My draw length is 26.5 inches. This could be my next bow. But, I need more info. I know it is fast. But, speed isn't everything.

The Equalizer is great. There is little to no hand shock and is very quiet.

I change bows every year, but I will not be changing this year because I am so happy with the way my Equalizer shoots.
