Everything is OK here, I seen a few signs damaged. a few trees down, stuff like that. One of the roads in the area is currently closed due to a couple of poles that are leaning over it, because of the wind. Nothing major, except the water in my crawl space. That will dry up though.

Ok I lived in Michigan my whole short life of 32 years. But I have never seen it snow so much so fast. Ive seen 22 inchs in two days..But I mean were getting it at the rate of almost two inchs a hour. From 1:00 until now we have gotten around a foot and it doesnt appear to be stoping until midnight. I have shoveld the drive three times already..

The blizzard of 1978 here was a real butt kicker. My wife was 9+ months preggo and we were snow bound for 5-6 days. (private dirt road to lake) I had a sled and was supplying the whole area with lifes eccentuals. Milk, Beer, and Cigarettes! my daughter was born on the 15th. Ss.

Hey Jdawg, is that a eye bolt or a hook that the chain hooks onto? and what keeps the steel cable on the bottle jack? I have a homemade press and have been trying to figure out a good way to do that with it. Have seen several ways but didn't like most of them.

It's an eye bolt I think... I seen a guy use U-bolts also.... there is a groove cut in the top of the jack that the cable rides in...

That is how I have seen them done normally, I'm not sure I like that idea. Has anybody ever had the cable slip off when they were not paying attention to that. I get nervous everytime I press a bow, I try to watch the limb placement on the pegs the riser parrallel to the press. I just don't want another thing to have to watch.

I haven't heard of anybody having trouble with the cable sliding off the jack but I did see a pic of an eyebolt that almost let go...
