what do the numbers mean

the numbers for arrow sizes, not sure what they mean or how to read them

any help would be great, it would even help me to pick out the proper arrows

When looking at aluminum arrows, the 2413 type designation describes OD and wall thickness. For instance, the arrow shown above is 24/64 OD and the wall thickness is 0.013".

Carbon arrows do not follow this designatiion so you will need to look up the specs.

As for chosing an arrow, be sure to use the recommended arrow charts from each manufacturer. Arrow "spine" or stiffness is crucial to getting arrows to fly correctly. Too stiff or too weak will cause flight problems.

I think that carbon arrows are rated by how much they deflect at the shot like a 340 arrow would be .340" but don't quote me on that, I have been wrong before. Just don't tell my wife that!
