Who going to shot a few does this years
I really enjoy shooting does. We have extra permits to take does. Of course in Oklahoma we have a good limit for does already.
They fill the freezer just fine.

Does are excellent table fare. Nothing wrong with shooting does. I think it's much harder to stick an old nanny doe than a rut crazed buck, she's always on the alert and knows how to spot danger. I think they are actually better at spotting danger because they are always on the look out because of their fawns.
Plus, around here, there are alot of them so you get lots of practice.

I always plan on it. 2 bucks and no does was an aberration for me last year. Although put an arrow right underneath one at 25 yds was pretty sorry on my part.

I am definitely going to war with the does this year with my bow. There is getting to be way to many and no one else wants to shoot them, so I guess I will volunteer!!!

I won't shoot does unless they walk in front of my stand and give me a good shot. They taste the same and me and my boy's start out hunting for meat for the freezer.

Darn right, Does are at the top of the list. I don't turn any deer down unless I think it's real small. I just don't get that many chances at deer. Does deffinately are better eating IMO, no reason not to take them.

Doe A Deer And Fine Eaten!
We have that Bovine TB problem in our area up North, so we try and do our share of thining them down a little. Odd thing thou, my wife keep records on things like that and we have never had a positive TB case. The State takes the Deer head and at the research lab a culture is grown and test for the TB.
Over seventy deer Bucks and Does no diease ever found. Guess we have been lucky not to have one with it!

I try to shoot a few to fill the freezer. Then shoot 1 or 2 to donate to the food banks.

My tag is good for one doe and one ether sex. I shoot a doe early and hold out for a buck. I love to hunt bucks in the pre-rut and rut. I have filled my tags the last 6 years I have lived here. In the archery season if you fill your tag you can get one more permit for a ether sex. I shoot 1 or 2 bucks or does and at lest 1 doe a season. Buck hunting kind of sucks here, but there are a ton of deer around. I hunt almost every day in the season and we like eating deer.

Yep!
Last year I shot
1 Buck
10 does
We eat allot of Venison
Last year out of the 11 deer
I donated 1 cut and wrapped to a needy family
I donated 1 to and hungry family and they cut their own
3 went to my son in college which he and his buds ate well
The rest stayed in my freezer.
And this year the property owner asked me to do the same we are overwhelmed with deer here, and are trying to get a better balance. So I end up having a great time during archery season. I really like zoning in on a doe's this creates a level of confidence when the buck walks in.

I plan on taking two. One from each of the places I am gonna get to hunt this year. At least I think I am gonna get to hunt both of them. Then, if an oppurtunity arrises to hunt somewheres else, I will take one there if an oppurtunity arrises Probably won't shoot a little buck this year, but if Mr. Big comes out again at The Lazy C, he is getting Tricked, same goes for the Elk Deer on the Schaefer Farm.
