How Long....

How long is the long time period you put your bow away and did not shoot? Days? Weeks? Months? Years?

What do you check on your bow to be sure it is safe to shoot after long storage in good conditions (no extreme temps)?

How bout arrows? Is there any type of arrow that won't hold up after long periods of storage?

"no extreem temps" is a biggie. My bows and arrows live in my basement.
Strings and cables can go several years with moderate use but they don't last forever and give no warning when they are ready to go.. IMO If you shoot every day I'd replace them every two years.
I just replaced my main hunting bow's set after 4 years. I did'nt shoot it every day, it saw alot of down time Jan-June.
My arrows also live in my basement. Unless they are wood, they don't go bad.

I think I will. It's been a while and I am missing it really bad. I just have to find a few $$ to refletch my arrows

I know the feeling, I haven't been shooting near as much as I use to. I think I needed alittle break from target shooting. Lately I ve been getting the itch for a round or two of spots. Tis the season

I put my PSE Citation up in 85 after having laser surgery for a retinal hemorrhage I picked it up again 3 years ago just to bowfish for carp, and I hadn't changed cables or string I did crank the poundage way down when I stored it in it's case.
Oh and it's now retired and I'm shooting a black diamond?

Must be something in the air.

My only obstacle is the damage to my eye after the bout with the rubber bunge strap, I can aim and shoot but the dot or fiber optic is blurry to the point of having a cluster and having to figure which one is the correct one.

What suffers is my groups are larger, pie plate size at 50, but it's still fun shooting and yes I could switch all my stuff over to shooting right handed but the time available to shoot now dosent warrant the switch.
