I'm Bad... but NOT that bad??
So for the past 11 weeks I have been shooting a Tuesday night indoor league. Well the past weekend I got back my hunting bow from the repair shop and since I am sick of winter and ready to start the 3D season I decided that I would switch from the indoor bow to the hunting bow... Well I knew there would be an adjustment and I had to sight it in. I am shooting a new poundage, strings, limbs, and stabilizer on the hunting bow so I figured there would be a slight adjustment period. On average I am a 285-293 shooter so I thought if I can hit 275-280 I would be good and within a week or 2 I would be right back around 290. But last night it seemed that no matter what I did I kept shooting low, so I would move my sight down. That would work for 3 arrows and then low again... finally one round I shot a 12 (out of 25). I was thinking WOW never in my mind can I really be doing this bad, THEN it hit me. I notice that my drop away arrow rest was coming loose and it was barely lifting my arrow off my bow. It was so low that it almost fell off and would have only been held on by the rip cord. I felt kind of dumb, but also VERY relieved. After fixing that sighting in again my last round I shot a 93, but then again I shot about an extra 30 arrows than normal. Hopefully next week will give me a true image of the adjustments, the goal is a 290 round.

The goal should be 300 with 290 as a stepping stone.
Next goal should be 60x with 300 as a stepping stone.
Still working on the second one myself, but thanks for the idea. Gonna use the loose rest thing in case someone asks why.

So last night was a true sample... back to the hunting bow and shot a 295... self sabotage, in the 2nd to last round I change my thought from hit the X to don't miss... Does it every time. I shot a 99, 99, then in the last end dropped one then two more. Still an all time best for me!

Congrats on the PB
Now stop thinking about not missing....every time you do, your going to miss. The X is your friend and all you should be thinking about.
I shoot nothing but 300s on a 5 spot for the most part....all I care about is shooting Xs. I will take a 299 55-59X round over a 300 50X round every day of the week.

All the chasing the the first 300 round. I shot with a guy Sunday that got his first one with his paper puncher set up and what great smile it had put his face, he even went on to photo his score card and posted it on face book to share with his fellow mates. The paper punching for score can really grab you and make you become a great archer. Have fun with it and enjoy the ride mn. moose you'll get there.

Another 295 last night, increased my Xs to 31. Getting there but the end of my season is next Tuesday. Maybe next year! Time to think about going outside!

A little known fact !
I've decided to only shot my Hoyt Alphatec , it's my speedbow with 70lb. limbs , as I plan to shoot everything with it !
I will be out there flinging arrows myself !
Now you know and you are !
