Default Forced hot water question.

Lately it seems like I'm hearing alot of air in the basboard radiation, way more than I ever heard before. How/why is it getting in there and how to purge it out? It's an oil fired boiler, and I have town water.

Maybe it's getting too hot and evaporating the water causing a vapor lock???

If you get to much air in those lines the pump will start cavitating and you will have no heat. They make special valves that go in the lines that let air out and keeps the water in. If I were you I would talk to a good HVAC guy...

I had a sludge build up in my furnace. It sounded like the pipes were going to break out of the walls. I called someone to come and clean the whole system. I have not had a problem since I had this done.
