R100 rules??
I am new to 3d shooting. I picked up a Bear Truth Decmber '06 to hunt with in September '07. I started practicing and never stopped. My first 3d shoot was 7/8/07, just 18 hours after picking up my new Drennalin. After a quick site in I had a blast at the shoot.
I just signed up for the R100 in Sparta, WI and have a few questions:
IBO or ASA scoring?
I believe I'll be in the Hunter class.
Are yardages known/posted?
Are range finders allowed?
Are binos allowed? if so power restrictions?
I searched the R100 site for rules but could not find any. If they are out there please advise.
Thanks,
Greg

Congrats on the new bow and finding the sport of 3D!!!!
IBO or ASA scoring? - All IBO scoring
I believe I'll be in the Hunter class. - There's only two stakes to shoot at... Male hunter / unlimted and the ladies/ youth stake. If you are shooting Bowhunter, they will give you Handicap scoring
Are yardages known/posted? - All unknown (when we shot it nothing was over 40 - 45 yrds)
Are range finders allowed? - No range finders
Are binos allowed? if so power restrictions? - Binos are allowed, I didn't see any power restrictions
Welcome to 3DShoots.com!

Go have a good time at the R100. The shoot is a blast. Check to see if there will be anyone from 3dshoots.com going.
It is definitelya 2 day shoot. Go early to advoid the heat.

Thanks Jay Are,
Very helpful.
If it's IBO scoring 11-10-8-5-0, and there are 50 targets, how do they get scores in the 580s? Wouldn't 550 be the max score?
Or are the 580 scores for all 100 targets? If thats the case it must be a tough shoot!

The scoring is 12,10,8,5 and 0. But there is a novelty shot where you have the option of shooting at an apple. I am not sure of the scoring but it is something like if you shoot and hit it 24, shoot and miss 14 and if you don't shoot 0. At any skill level you will have a great time.

correct except for if you dont shoot it you still get 10 points.....
no shot=10 points
shot and miss=14 points
shoot and hit the apple=24 points
