3-16-08 Woodbury, CT Algonquin Archers
Algonquin Archers in Woodbury CT will be holding their first shoot of the year on Sunday 3-16. It is Palm Sunday. Will be a good shoot, and the food alone is ussually worth the trip.
Anyone interested???

Not the hardest course in the world but a fun day nonetheless. More of a realistic shoot. Plenty of food and desserts!!
John and I will be helping set up on Saturday so we'll try to get some "interesting" shots set up
Club addy in case you want to Mapquest:
Algonquin Archers, Inc.
35 Quanopaug Trail,
Woodbury, CT. 06798
Look for the blinking yellow light on Rt. 6

yeah.....thats the place....5 hours!!! Better let your wives drive you there! If you come 84, you will go right by the Danbury Mall, about 20 minutes or so before the club. There is a mall in Waterbury about 25 minutes past the club too.

There is a huge antiques distric only a couple miles from the club if they're into that sort of thing.

Let me know what time you guys are planning on shooting and I'll try to hook up with ya.
Since I'm helping in setting up the course I plan on shooting the recurve.

I'll be at the club all day. Probably from around 7am on. Gonna stick around and help tear the course down afterward. I'm gonna shoot the rangefinder hunter class, without a rangefinder. That way no one can complain about me having prior knowledge of the shot distances.

I didn't mean NOW. I meant when you figured it out!
I may actually shoot TG and not turn in a card. After shooting the 300rd today it's apparent I really need work with my form.

Looks like weather won't be an issue now!
Partly cloudy with temps in the low 40's. Should be a nice day to shoot.

No worries.
I'm free most of the day.
Might have an Easter Egg hunt to attend to in the afternoon.

Course is set. It's a pretty good one. The TG stake is a bit stretched. Should be a fun shoot.
Bring your boots!! There are some pretty sloppy areas.
Plus you'll need'em for the alligator!!

As long as they're waterproof. There are a few wet areas that you'll have to get through but it's not too bad.

There are a few real soupy spots, and you're gonna get wet pulling arrows on the gator. If your hikers are waterproof, you should be ok. My pants were wet about 4 inches up today.

Hunting boots will work fine. Gaitors would work well also.
There are really only about 3 bad spots from what I remember. You could have someone else pull arrows from the gator. There are a couple spots you will have to walk through that are soft.

In all honesty, I believe this will be the major complaint on the course. No way to stay out of the water, and pull arrows on the gator.
