you can hunt hogs all year long. the only thing is in the hot months you will want to get the pig dressed and on ice fast as you can.
Meat will spoil very fast in hot weather, the hotter it is the faster your pig will spoil.
what I do in the texas summer which is very hot is after the recovery i will field dress, skin and quarter within one hour. This will mean you will have to have ice in the cooler, a good sharp knife, and rope to hoist your pig up to be dressed.
Now in the winter months when the temp is under 42 deg. i will let the meat hang for a little while. If at all possible hang your pig in a walk in cooler for about 15 days. This will allow the meat to bleed out and age so that you will have some fine eating pork. You can also do this in cooler on ice just drain the bloody water every day and keep the ice filled up. after about 5 days the water will not be bloody anymore and the meat will be ready to cut and package.

I also do this with venison. works great. the chilled meat slices easier too.

Sorry Pred.
I put my hunting bow down after hunting season
and use my 3D bow..It is intirely different set-up, than my hunting bow
I do not use a power scope or all the extra equipment thats on my 3D rig.
Yes im still shooting a bow but its not the same.
I was saying while you are use to the equipment your useing in hunting season and to add your use to shooting live moveing animals
Your still in the hunt mode.
