Default STS question...

I have been thinking about putting an STS on my VTec. i've heard some people say you need to put serving on your string where it contacts the STS. other people say you dont need to, you should just be sure to give it a good waxing in that spot in particular. any of you guys with STS's have any suggestions?

I have the serving in the contact area. It's only about 1-1/2" long and I keep it good and waxed itself. A string is fast getting to be a high dollar item, and any time the is contact with anything, it will begin to show wear. So in my opinion, the serving is a must

I recommend to serve the contact area, you will get better life out of your string. It is really not that much area of the string that you have to serve anyways.

This is what STS says

"Included with the STS system is serving material. Though not likely needed, you can wrap this around your bowstring where it contacts the rubber stopper to ensure that there is no excessive string wear"
http://www.stsarchery.com/rearmount.shtml

I don't have it on mine but I will be getting some since my string is 1 week old and I would like it to last.
