Default Im turning over a new leaf this year. Wearing a harness

Lots of my buddys over at the other forum encouraged me to get a safety Harness. Well this is my second one. First one was to tight. This one seems to fit. Want to say thanks for those who encoraged me to make this step.

For the note, I have fallen twice. Once from 23ft right on my back and once I rode the tree down. Im older and hopefully smarter. I climb all day being a electrician. Climbing never bothers me. This harness is great as well. I can hang my Vortex Hurricane Bonos right there in front.

No I tried Buzzard hunting... but sitting on a limb waiting for a deer to come by and die is/was boring to say the least... I still got the Hunter's Safety System vest... it did it's job... I never fell not even once..

I never felt safe without one, a man at my church fell from 10 ft ladder stand and wound up paralyzed from the waste down. it made me think very hard about the situation.

Thats great! I almost always wear one. There have been occasions where I have forgotten it, and still hunted. Nobodys perfect I guess.

Default I will to sometimes

I use alot of ladder stands now days. I feel good in these and love the big game stands such as this one with rails while climbing. This one is a 20fter.

I ususally use a safty belt that came with one of my stands years ago with my climber stand...I have considered buying a Jesse/ginger system...Usually don't wear anything in my ladder stand..

I shouldn't need one from my ground blind...

Indiana has legislation being looked at that would require you to wear a harness if hunting more than 8 feet off the ground. The insurance company lobbies are supporting it big time.

Look for this to be made law July 1st 2009

I am glad to hear you went ahead and took our advice. I finally told my buddy that he will not be allowed to hunt on my property unless he uses one, and being that he shot a 170" 12 point 3 years ago out of my stand he decided to give in.

by the way my above post about legislation is a total lie

You are a better man than I. I am so cheap I will only buy myself one life-saving device per year. I'm getting the snake-boots this year.
