Default Who hunts by the moon phases?

Now I never miss a chance to hunt. But if Im taking days off work and have a choice its always the positive days with this guide. This year it shows some favorable days the first week in Nov. Thats prime time for me to hit the woods. Bucks are in Pre rut with favorable moon phase.

Two buddys who both own deer heards tell me this guide is dead on. They say the favorable days on this guide and the deer will al be up and stirring around. Just a tip that works for me.

I havent used that one but I used to watch the Solunar tables in Field and Stream pretty closely. I never really kept a log of deer seen when the tables said they should be versus the other times though. it would be interesting to see that kind of data from somebody.

Never tried it, would like to though. But I hunt no matter what the phase is. Even a bad day in the woods is better then a good day at work.

Untell those buddies showed me and said there deer in the fence are effected by the moon and this guide is what they use. One can learn alot by owning a deer herd.

if i had my druthers yes i would only hunt the afternoons that were favorable but here in the real world when i can hunt i do.but,i do put alot of stock in the moon phase theory.i have come to see that the best time to hunt the afternoon over a food plot is in the half moon phases.

been using the wheel for a couple of years and the moon phase does effect where i hunt for sure. i have been places where it didn't as much, but those were really unpressured private land too.
i do believe the wheel does help.

I hunt my own place and a friends in IN, both are small. My 2 KY spots are huge but they belong to the 2 sets parent's of my friend and his wife so I can't help you down there but after turkey season goes out I'd be up for it. The other spot I have here isn't as good as my place so I tend to just try it 3 or 4 times during bow season. There is 12 acres to play on and my neighbor has 10 that he doesn't care if we get on as well. They tend to run the property line between the 2 pieces or there is another spot farther back. I see mostly does and the bucks I have seen tend to be 1.5year olds so you wouldn't be trophy hunting. I did see a good 8 last year the weekend before opening day but I never saw him again. I go to KY opening weekend of IN's gun season and I haven't made final plans for a KY bowhunt but we've talked about the last weekend in October. If you're serious I'm thinking first weekend in Nov? You'll want your climber.

Default Moon Phase

I go hunting whenever I can sneak out of the house regardless of the table. I know that mossyoak.com has one as well but they call it a Lunar table might be same thing not to sure about that scientific stuff.

I use it

It's let me sleep in on a lot of days and sit mid days and see deer!

I don't like hunting on windy days either, I don't think the moon phase works when the wind is blowing hard or I will say,,,it doesn't work on them days!

deer don't like to move when the wind is blowing hard

Who hunts moon phases...those who are good, not lucky. If you use the chart, also start keeping a notebook with pertinant info on your hunt, and when you see/don't see deer. It'll help a lot!

I hunt by moon phase, and have found the $30 watch from Casio to be spot on. I will sleep in if the watch tells me deer are not moving until 10am..

You may want to read Oct. and Nov. this years Deer and Deerhunting Mag. It explains pretty well how the moon affects the rut.
