This is an addiction opening day hunting season.
Been up sense 2:30am. Might as well go eat breakfast and hit the local Walmart. Cant sleep as usual for first day in the stand. Oh well sleeps overrated. Hope to get a few pictures this morning to share. 6:00am will get here soon enough.

Just sitting here waiting for daylight hours to come. Wife ask what are you doing up so earlier. Said its opening day, she said OH and went back to bed.

I dropped 3 or 4 Advil PM's yesterday at around 8:45 so I could go to sleep... its the only way I sleep on the night before opening day., still woke up at 2:30, 3:15, 4:15 and finally said screw it I'll stay up at around 4:35.
Didn't see anything, it was fricken cold as hell (35 degrees on the PA archery opener? I had to scrape my windows!) and then it fricken rained for 2 hours... wtf weather.com should be fired for sucking so badly!
I love hunting season

Opening day for me too started by leaving house a 2:30am and just now getting home.
Made my first mistakes already. Got lost going into woods this morning. Then as soon as light peaked through realize I was 15 yds from my stand just couldnt see it. I knew I shouldve flagged it when I put it up.
Also shot a a nice doe shooting between my 25 and 30 yard pin when she was only 15 yards out.
Now Im hooked. Cant wait till next Saturday.

This happens to me every single year without fail. I've been in the woods I hunt for over 20 years, from building tree forts and hide and go seek to hunting and "hiding" from parental supervison :P but I still get lost every time...
till this year. Tacks are the ticket, get em, use em, and love em. They reflect light very well and are easily visible from more then 20 yards away.
a clever trick is to put them on a tree near your tree that absolutely sucks (ie: no cover, no shots... etc) and just know where you are in relation to that tree... that way if someone wants to steal your spot and post in your tree they get nothing :P
