Default arrow spine

When selecting easton arrow shafts is the higher the number means more stiffness in the shaft?

I am shooting 340 spine I need to go stiffer is that a 400 spine or 300 spine .

Easton use inches of deflection for the numbers, so a .500 shaft bends 1/2" when a weight is applied, to the center of a 28" shaft and a .340 bends about 1/3 " etc.

So the smaller # will be a stiffer spine.
