My first league shoot.
Well I went to my first league shoot today. Also the first time I got to shoot my switchback.
I took the Switchback to the shop last night and had a sight and peep installed. Only took about 5 shots with it just to check peep alignment and make sure the arrows would hit target.
Had a bunch of errands to run after work so I hurried home grabbed my gear and got to the range with enough time to get about and hour of practice in.
I hadn't set any pins yet and thank god for the micro adjustment on the spot hogg sight because I was able to get it in pretty quickly.
Once I was in the yellow it was time to start league.
The league is a vegas spot 450.
I never realized how much stamina you needed for archery. I didn't do too bad. I ended up with a 428 and 8Xs. I really need to learn to slow down and if I'm not comfortable with my sight picture let it down and try again. Also the arm fatigue got me pretty good. The three 8's I had were all on my 3rd shot. I alway's went 3,2,1 just to try and stay consistent.
I'm pretty happy with the results. I think I need some more padding in my release or just a new one. I have really small wrists and they are raw from the release rubbing in it all night. It's about 2 years old and I've used it alot and the weather is pretty worn.
Can't wait till Thursday. My goal is a 430 with nothing outside of the yellow. I'll be shooting on the bottom bag then which I think will be a little easier for me since I won't be staring into the flourescent lights.

Shooting indoors will improve your shooting drastically. Especially if you watch, listen, and learn from the guys shooting the high scores.

I'll have to go to the store tonight and find one of those wrist bands. If I could get a thin one I think it would work perfect.
Anyone have some tried and true methods for improving endurance? My main issue is my eyes start to lose focus.

Lutein is the best nutrition for your eyes.....they make them capsule form. Start working out your arms and back more often. Either that or your poundage is too high and you should back it off some more...A golf glove may work for your wrist as well...just cut off the forefinger and/or thumb if needed.

I shot indoor every week last year after I started shooting. I really think it is what helped make me the shooter I am today. I am definitely more confident because of it. It made me learn to slow down, aim hard, and follow through. My form was really perfected there to. It also helped that I was shooting with some real class A shooters! I can't wait to get back to indoor again. I had to take a few weeks off due to bow issues and then moving, but I am ready to get back to it!

Hydration!
Consume sugar-free, caffeine free beverages...
Potassium in the form of:
Sultanas
Raisins
Figs <---my favorite)
Banana's are actually way down on the list.
List of potassium-rich-foods

Maybe that was my issue I drank and energy drink right before and forgot to bring some water. Starting now I'll be refraining from anything but water.
