Well it was definately interesting...

I had never shot a USBA event until today. Their scoring is a little different than what I am used to.
I am used to the IBO scoring as 11, 10, 8, 5.

The USBA only scores 10, 8, 5 and the 11 ring is only used to break ties. By their way of scoring I shot a 274 with 11 X's If I had scored it as an IBO round I would have scored a 285 with 11X's.
They way they determine a winner is different as well. Depending on which class you are shooting in they have different levels and your level is determined by your previous shooting record.

Now here is where it get's interesting....

The computer randomly draws 10 targets and your scores from those 10 targets determine where you place in your class. So you could shoot a mediocre game and still win money.
It's going to take 3 or 4 days before they have the results posted but I will be anxious to see how I placed....
Oh yeah If I hadn't takin 2 5's my score would have looked alot better. One was a Axis deer at about 32 yards that I decided to shoot for 40...

(I shot the wrong pin). The other was a 35 yard mosquito...
All in all though it was fun....
