All depends on how well you like them both. I love the Tribute but the AM seems very nice also.

are you happy with your bowtech? do you just want a new bow? it is your money, if you want one or eel it is time to upgrade go for it. they are a nice bow. but so are the bowtechs. have you had a chance to look at a SWAT from bowtech? it looks good too. more rounded cams look nice and easy to draw...
have fun with your decision

I love my Tribute. Just window shopping. I cant afford to have two bows so to get a new one I would have to sell the one I have. Do I need a new bow? No. Will I be Better with a new bow? No. Just thinking about it is all.

If thinking about it was enough justification I would have about ten different bows.

Definately go shoot it. Because if you do not then you will always wonder. You may not like it at all. I mean come on that Tribute is pretty sweet.

You are right the tribute is an awesome bow and I love it. Just like the looks and the specs of that AM. Wish I could afford both.

Hey I got an idea...... You buy it for me! Now there is the perfect solution

As soon as I make my first Million Dollars I will definately buy you "ANY" new bow you want completely accessorized. And I will pay for the one you blew up while testing.

I'm going to shoot an AlphaMax myself....maybe i'll call my dealer and see if he's got a few minutes to kill tomorrow just to satisfy my curiosity....and take my General along for a side by side. I can tell you that my younger brother called me yesterday going on about how great it was to shoot and one of my hunting buddies just traded his drenalin for one...

Here's what I did when I found the bow I wanted. I waited untill the 2007 Vectrix was replaced by the Katera as Hoyt's flagship bow. I got one new last year for $425. I'll bet the Alpha Max becomes much more reasonable when it is no longer in fashion to own one. When I can buy a new one for under $500 I'll likely own it. If I wasn't laid off right now I'd probably be looking for a new Bowtech General. I'd buy a used Hoyt and not worry about warranty issues. I can't say the same for the General but it is a sweet shooting bow. If I found one new for $500 I'd tempted to use my Visa card.

Ya'll think ya'll got it bad? Everytime i decide to look at a new bow....so does mrs. pilot! I end up buying two! She's already tagging aong with me when i go shoot the AlphaMax 'cause she's got her eye on a Bowtech SWAT with the candy purple flames on it! LOL

J. Blay.....i might end up having to sell you a slightly used but mint condition General at a steal once she gets through shopping

Just got home with my AlphaMax 32....so much for me talkin you out of it brother!

Shot both the Admiral and the AM32 back to back with my General. My impression was that the the Admiral was just as good as the AM32 but i decided that it was too much like my General so that wouldn't be any fun.

Both bows set at 70#, 380 gr arrow, hostage rest, 28in DL:

General = 290 fps
AM32 = 306 fps

What the heck are you doing buying a 70# bow, don't you know that 60# will kill any animal in North America?? No wait thats what everyone tells me when I buy a new bow. But I like the extra P-O-W-E-R.

CONGRATS ON THE NEW BOW...............so when does Mrs Pilot pick hers up??

I've shot both of them and unless you just have an itch to spend some money I'd stick with teh Tribute, especially if it has the smooth mods on it.

Hey J.C., don't be a party pooper! This ain't about being practical, realistic, frugal or reasonable. And it ain't about "needin" a new bow either. It's all about daddy wantin a new toy....
