Default Texas Federation ASA Qualifier at Brownwood Bowhunters

The 2009 Texas ASA Federation Tournament Trail is kicking off this weekend, February 21 & 22, at Brownwood Bowhunters Archery Club in Brownwood, Texas. This is the first of nine Texas State Qualifiers.

10:00 am shotgun start on both Saturday and Sunday, You may shoot either day, 30 McKenzie targets, 15 known distance targets and 15 unknown distance targets, $30.00 entry fee for all adult classes, $16.00 entry fee for young adult and youth classes, $5.00 entry fee for all eagle classes. Cash pay backs for all adult classes, non cash awards for young adult and youth classes. Awards will be presented at approximately 4:00 pm on Sunday. ASA and Texas ASA rules apply and will be enforced.

We have a new class for 2009. The Known 45 (K45) is an all known distance class. The contestants in the K45 will be peer grouped together and will be responsible for having range finders. No yardage sheets will be issued for the K45 class.

The Shooter of The Year program will be based on your 5 best qualifier scores PLUS your state championship score. We will be awarding SOY buckles for all adult, young adult, and youth classes (not eagles) for 2009.

For a complete schedule, rules, club links and more go to the Texas ASA Federation website at:

http://texasasafederation.com/

The guys at Brownwood have been working for two weeks getting their range ready for this shoot. This is going to be a great shoot. Come on out shoot with us. Compete for the Shooter of the Year in your class. You will have a blast. And remember.....

We Are the Next Best Thing to a Pro/Am

Jim,

I am getting stronger each day.
I did get a low poundage bow sighted in.
I just don't have enough energy to make it thru a full day yet.
I may be strong enough by Clifton, but for sure by Mesquite.
I am ready to get out and kill some foam!

Marty

Man, Sunday was PERFECT!!

Last I heard, we had 26 shooters Saturday, and 160ish Sunday

Every stake had 5 shooters, several had 6. Even though it was a packed house, the shoot moved along at a very smooth pace.

The speed shoot afterwards was a nice addition. Big thanks to my buddy Gene for putting that together.

Also, another big thanks to my crew for sticking around after the awards presentation to pick up and clear the range. It sure makes it alot easier when everyone pitches in.

Mike and Tracy... top notch as usual.

See everyone in Clifton.

They're coming.

Here's a couple from the bag range and speed shoot later in the day. These are from a trail camera I hung up next to the bag range. I intended to hang 2 more out on the course, but It got a little hairy once the shooters started showing up... that and the extra trip I had to make back to the house, after I dumped a full cup of coffee in my lap.

If yall haven't yet, I recommend putting up trail cams along your course, you get some interesting shots.

Warming up on Sunday morning.

Attachment 14610

Yours truly and Mark White at the speed shoot. Form under pressure.
