Default First Deer

How old were you when you killed your first deer and was it a buck or doe.
I was 12 and it was a 6 point buck.

Default First Deer

I was 19, second day deer hunting I shot a 6 pointer at about 10 yards. After that I was hooked, shot 6 more deer that year and 5 last year. I got a nice 8 for the wall last year and I won't shoot any bucks I can't mount. Just destroy some does. Here in Illinois you really get to SEE some results when you pass on 2 1/2 or borderline 3 1/2 year old bucks. "Let em go, let em grow"

I was 19, my first year of any type of hunting, let alone bowhunting.

A big, fat doe in about 10 acres of woods surrounded by apartment complexes.

Default How old!

If i can remember that far back 10 or 11, 1 shot with a 20ga.
It was a giant doe (bigger than me at that time)
I remember because my dad raised hell at me because we were way down in a swamp and he had to drag that big thing out of there!
First with the bow;16 doe then buck 4pt a week later!

Default Last Year

Actually it was only last fall. I was 27, and took a nice mature doe with my muzzleloader. Two weeks later I harvested a 6 pt buck. This year my goal is to take a deer with my bow.

what i meant was thats probably about what it weighed on the hoof when it was alive, rather than most of the time people say how much it weighed after it was gutted...its usually a bad sign if you carry it to the truck instead of dragging it....or if you could throw it into the truck from 15 yards away...

I was 16 when I got my first deer. He was a 2 or 3 year old buck that had broken both antlers off at the base. I thought it was a doe when I shot him!

10 years old got a yearling doe w. my fathers Lee-Enfield .303 British
I got kicked as far back by the rifle, as Bambi did by the bullet.

Since turning 18 the only firearm I hunt with is my single action .44 Magnum.
