My support thread...
Day two of not smoking....
Seems to get easier the less I think about it.. I know day one.. was pretty good until later on in the afternoon, especially when I was shooting my bow... then I became a little
I have been at work all day today and I really haven't had an urge to go outside... but it has been busy... so that is a good thing... Plus livesavers and jolly ranchers have really helped!!!
Tomorrow will be the big test... we have a tournament to shoot in....
Wish me luck!!!

Good Job....keep it up girl. You just have to really want it. I gave up chewing cold turkey after 20 years with the help of the Lord. Gave it up several times before but always went back. But with His help I am still tobacco free.

I quit two years ago in this coming July.
Good Luck, it is well worth the investment and you will never breath and feel better.
I did gain quite a bit of weight, but that is because I am personally LAZY.

Nothing is a bigger turn off to me, seeing a pretty girl walk dont the street, or drive by in a car.....admiring her.....and then she puts that white thing to her lips.....
INSTANT sick feeling.......and want to be sick....
Think of how much healthier you will be.....

Not a easy or quick task.......but well worth it.
You'll be surprised at how good things smells and taste are when your not smoking, and how bad other people smell when they do.

Good luck. I've tried to stop several times. The funny thing is I don't smoke all that much. Yet I still can't manage to kick it.

Hang in there
I am still quit now after 18 years. It was not easy, but now I cannot see how I possibly smoked long enough to get hooked.
I wish you luck

Ok.. I am going to be honest... I have cheated... yes.. I cheated.. I am guilty.. but I did not cheat that bad... just during the tournament on Sunday... I know shame on me...
But honestly... when I am at work or at home... I don't have the urge to smoke.. it is just when that dang bow goes in my hand.... But please don't take it away from me!!!

Just saw this thread. Best of luck in your attempt to quit. I know, for some folks, it's really a hard habit to kick.
I've been an off and on smoker... but luckily, I can just not smoke when I don't want to. The only time I smoke one now is if I get really mad.
Best of luck!

From what I hear, your a pretty good shooter (very good).....maybe you need to tell your self that more
I know if I start to get down on myself after a bad shot or something, I usually have to tell myself, I am better than this and it will most of the time come back.....
Seems like you may have to force your self a couple times, and chaulk those days up to bettering your life.....
I hope for you and others health around you that you kick your habit

Did you notice how bad it tasted? I found that after 2-3 days, they tasted like ash trays
One small stumble, you'll get over it. Maintain the will power!

I'm not a smoker, my parents were (4 pack a day for Dad - 2 for Mom). I think this is why I never started. I can still hear Dad coughing as soon as his feet hit the floor in the a.m.
However, I did take up chewing tobacco. I enjoyed it especially while in the woods. I just up and quit chewing without any problems, honest.
About six years ago, I started to dip while helping one of my friends working around the farm. I dipped for 3 years. The wife asked me to quit after the grand daughters were born (you know how kids don't miss anything). I quit about a year ago and have craved it ever since - especially when I'm outside. I've been tempted to pick up a can but have held off so far.
It's crazy - no craving for chewing tobacco but have it for dip.

1. Tiffany.. Just remember that nicotine is Not going to help make your shot any steadier, neither will caffeine.. so this = all those things are bad for an archer.
2. Go get a prescription for Chantix.. That stuff works.. I only had to to take it 3 weeks... and look at me.. 2 yrs later... fat, i admit, but no smoking.. at all!
3. You and Kurt will amazed at how great your kisses taste.
4. and lastly.. if for no other reason.. if you go back to smoking, I AM GOING TO KICK YOUR BUTT! Got it?

I wouldn't take the Chantix, that stuff messed me up bad! A few other people had problems too!
Hang in there.
