Default Finally Scored on the OK Feral Hog

Well I finally scored in Okahoma Feral Hog Hunting.

Was suppose to go out with a few local guys..... but everybody wussed out on me, so I headed out to the state land myself. After 5 hours of scouting and hoofing all over this piece of property, I found 3 little piglets just walking around I ended up following them till they bedded up, which in turn I found a great wallow hole on the edge of a crp field. Well just 30yds from the hole was an osage tree which I was able to climb up and sit pretty comfortably I was up there for about an hour and a half when a group of 2 sows came to the hole followed by a nice 137lbs boar. Well I let him get about 32yds from me when turned broadside and I let him have it. Thanks to my Grizz Tricks which just make a GIANT hole, I only had a 60yds tracking job.

Default Wow

Public land and your first time there and you score on a hog. Getting hogs on public land with a gun is tough. Way to go Adam. Your quite the hunter.

Nice story and excellant hunt.

Speaking of those little buggers, I got something else while boar hunting in OK as well.

So after Sundays shoot my ankle was really itching didnt see a bite or anything.

On Monday my ankle looked like this red and purple with a strange ring around it

Bowhunting forum

Well never seeing this type of bite before I went on to webmd looked at some picks and narrowed it down to brown recluse, or lyme disease

So I went to the doctor today and you guessed it LYME disease from a stupid little tick. Luckly this early in the game its easily treat able, and I should be all set in a couple weeks.

So the hog was not the only thing I came out of the woods with that day

Holy Cow! I hope this doesn't put you out much and you don't get to sick. Good thing you caught it early. I hate them little buggers. Was it a small seed tick or a regular size tick? I get them on me all the time and this scares the crap out of me.

couldnt tell you never saw it, didnt burrow in me, and never felt it. It couldnt have been a very large one, cause the hole it made is tiney tiny.

But I should be good just got to take my meds and stay out of the sun. Good thing its going to be Overcast all weekend in Bedford
