Default Best all around bow for 3D and hunting

Hey guys, new to the forum and it seems like a great place. I haven't shot in several years, I use to be into 3D and hog/deer hunting, but have been out of the sport for a while now. I use to shoot a mathews feather max, and I'm just looking for advice on a good all around bow for hunting and 3D.

I'm leaning towards mathews because I know there great bows. I'll probably end up getting a used bow...money is kinda tight when your in college...but I definetly don't wanna skimp on quality.

If anyone has ANY advice or recommendations I'm open minded to anything!

Look forward to talking with you guys.

Ross

Default Mathews

Switchback or Drenalin would be a good choice.

Prestige is also another good choice if looking for used bows.

I'm a little slower than these guys, IMO you can't beat a Rival Pro or any of the Conquests. They can be had used very reasonable. Not as fast as the above mentioned, but very shootable bows. I have shot the SB , Prestige and the Dren, if price was equal it would be very tough to choose, really depends on your wallet.

I know you stated you are leaning towards a Mathews but before you do try a Ketera XL. Plenty fast and it is only 35 inches long. It shoots and holds like a longer ATA indoor or 3D bow. I guarantee you that you will not be dissappointed. You can hunt and shoot 3D with it. If you are sure of your draw length be sure to try it with the Z3 cams. They shoot awesome. You also need to try out a new Alpha max 35. Its just like the Ketera XL except its a little lighter.
Let us know what you decide.

Drenalin LD is my pick for sure. very stable, plenty fast for 3d, accurate, and very shootable

Go out and shoot as many as you can. What any of us thinks is mostly useless info for you. It's pretty well just a matter of personal preference - all the better known mfrs make a fine product.

There are so many great bows out there today it's almost hard to get a bad one.

You just have to decide what you like for specs. and match it up. and with the internet it's easy to buy a good used top of the line bow at half the price of new. Some of the used bows on AT are only a couple of months old and people sell them for 3 or 4 hundred dollars less than new.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I went to my only local archery shop today and shot a bunch of bows. Shot some mathews, bowtechs, ross, and missions. I really liked the mission for the price it seems like a good deal. I did shoot a bowtech admiral and WOW that bow was smooth.

Any info on the mission? They seemed pretty nice and I liked the lifetime warranty too.

Nothin wrong with Mission bow, they are a Mathews line they put out to try and get the bow hunter that doesn't want to spend the big bucks on a bow.

I shot a couple of Mission bow and really like em.
