Acorn preping

We have 2 large white oaks along a feild edge that are loaded with acorns this year. I decided to cut out all the brush underneath both trees to make things eaiser for the deer.

We have stands on either side of each tree so we can play the wind as well

Deer will hit the trees with less growth under them and acorns are easier to find. Something tells me thats going to be a popular tree come time to drop.

Find those Oaks and the deer will come!

Looking at the size of that OAK. It has to be quite old.

take 50# of fertilizer and spread it round the trees you want to hunt it will amke the nuts sweeter

I have got to start doing that especially the fertilizer. When is the best time to fertilize.

We put 50lbs or so of triple 10 around the drip edges in April during turkey season. We only did the 2 big oaks for a test run. I think it worked.
