Estimating Bear Weight
Does anyone know of a way to determine the live weight of a black bear based upon chest circumference?

When you see a bear track, you measure that and that will give you the approx length of the bear. The longer the heavier.
Are you trying to figure the bears weight from a distance or when you've shot it? The deeper the chest goes, shorter the legs look, ears look to small for the head, and round face, You probably have a 450+ lb bear
