Default Indoor 3D set-up?

Now that we have our first 4 critter on order, I need to figure out how to secure the 3D critters indoors. While it would be spectacular to see Mr. Chuck E. Rodent going head over heels down range, I don’t think the kids will like to have to stop shooting while coach goes to stand him back up again.

Secondly any ideas for making a more exciting "realistic" experience? I was thinking of maybe getting some of those plastic plants, trees, Astroturf etc. and letting Mrs.Squid and the kids do some diorama constructing Most of my kids think the "wilderness" is the over-grown vacant lot between the Gas Station and the Car Wash.

Since we are shooting in the church gymnasium, it needs to be a secure yet non-damaging and easily transportable solution.

Maybe a piece of 2x8 w/ a dowel sticking up into the critter a ways.

I bet the critters already have a hole or holes for this.

Here's an idea.

Take a piece of 4'x8' Plywood and make some foam trees as an additional backstop along w/ the dowels in the 2x8's. You could make one "scene" that could stay intact and then two folks could carry it. Add in some fake greenery, grasses etc.

For our indoor league, we have to setup and take down our targets (it's in a YMCA). For target stands, we use about 30" of square 1-2" pipe with a 10" section of rebar welded to it. You'll also want some sandbags to put on the stands for the lighter targets or those that don't balance well (standing bear).

For scenery, we use old fake christmas trees we got for free (just put a wanted add on craigslist, in the church bulletin, local paper, whatever). We also have a short section of split rail fence we put up (there are alot of points stuck in this over the years). Don't forget about the line too, we have a kneeling shot through a blind (welded wire panel with camo screen) and a sitting shot off a stool.
