Bows for new hunters?

My daughter and son-in-law will start hunting this fall and I offered to help with the bow selection. He is 29" and she 27". The first thing I noticed was that many of the faster bows had real short "valleys" and if these new shooters relaxed at all they were pulled forward away from the rear "wall". I hope I described this well. Are there any decent bows out there that are not so touchy and would a more relaxed beginner shooting style? Thanks...

I havn't shot them all by anymeans but, the Switchback XT was the smoothest/easiest to shoot bow I've ever shot.

Killed alot of kritters w/ that bow.

I still see them fs on ebay and AT.

The Switchback original or XT is a nice hunting bow. So were the Q2 and Q2xl. The only negative might be thier lack of DL adjustment on the cam. Myself I'd rather get something with rotation modules like the Hoyt cam.5 system, just for ease of DL changes for a newbie unless your sure of the DLs.

Hoyt Ultra tec's and 737's would be great choices for your son-in Law. I have seen them used in the $250-$350 range. Make sure you get the cam 1/2 so he has some DL adjustability.

The switchback would be a great bow for your daughter if you can find one with the right dl. Cams run $50+ if you have to change the DL though.

Look in the classifieds on AT for Hoyt 38 pro's too. They are great bows as well. Make sure you get her a lower poundage bow so you don't have to back the limbs way out just so she can pull it. I'd suggest a 50# max for her.

Mathews one cams hold well on back end

Hoyt cam and half are all pretty good.

Older bowtech Alliegnece and Gaurdians are easy to draw and hold.

I shoot a Daimond Rock at 28" 65lbs. and I think it holds good. It has a fairly smooth draw cycle and I can relax without it jerking and jumping.

Good bow for the money IMO. I spent about $600 on mine, but I am pretty sure you can buy it in a package with everything installed for $450-$500.

Especially a 60lber. I have a 29" cam for this bow I would sale reasonable.

Easy to tune and shoot.
