How would the top dog 3D shooters do at a popup tournament like Buckmasters?
I like watching the Buckmasters tournaments..You got the popups, moving targets..Command shooting is the name of the game there..Different animal than your standard type 3D shoot for sure..
It got me to thinking...I wonder how good the Morgans,McCarthy's and Hopkins of 3D would be in this type of environment..Having to reprogram your shooting style, especially for BT users..
Something to discuss anyway..

Tim dont shoot Buckmasters because they require you to shoot Easton arrows. (Goldtip Rep) But Tim dont lose many pop up tournaments. Most those guys shooting Buckmasters shoot 3d as well. Believe me they would do fine.
Bout (Chris Berry) here is a heck of a pop up shooter as well.

That's funny cause I was just thinking that Gillingham would tear that format up with his shooting style...

I have witnessed Tim shooting pop ups tougher than the Buckmasters. He smoked the winner of the buckmasters at that event.

I just love it
When I hear shooter say oooo that is bad for you and on and on and I only say ,,, lets go and have some fun we will shoot what ever style you want and than we will shoot some pop up... and add the scores and see who is on top... I love pop up archery and I shoot paper on a national level just to help my pop-up shooting ... (I am the current record holder for 5 spot at Louisville KY) and several times I went to the Great outdoors Games which is the fastest you will ever have to shoot when it was on TV we would practice shooting 4 arrows at 25 yds at a 4in disk and regularly do this under 18sec.
You just have to switch gears in your head is the hole game....( Which is really easy when there is not much upstairs LOL)

You know darn well that shooting pop ups ruins your indoor game. Heck most cant shoot 60X with BHFS set up, Bout can though and I have witnessed it.

Im lucky enough to have a indoor pop up range less than a mile from my house.Shooting it all winter last year really helped me in the outdoor 3d season. It's a different game but the top shooters outdoors still dominate the indoor pop up scene around here.

he made it to the finals, now he just has to beat me to win the qualifier. they have moved the finals to the worlds in august so he and i will have to wait to finish it then. considering it is his first year he has shot it pretty good.

Im sure not betting against Gillingham in a pop up tournament. Good luck to both of you. Tim a Shooter and has won more than his share of speed shoots and pop ups. He as tough as they come.
