Default Finally!!!

My black M7 and focus grips have arrived!! Longest wait I've ever had for a bow but, I'm just happy it's here!

Now with the time of year and the weather it could be another 2 months + before I ever even get to see it!! We need a rain storm over the Prairie state pronto....

Is this just a cruel joke?

Soon as it rains I'll be there to take some myself!

Of course if Chris wants to add insult to injury he can post a pic of it hanging on the wall.

Pretty much, I'm more of the jack of all suppliers lol. Seed, fertilizer, chemicals..busy busy.

BUT! I did squeeze in time to make a stop at the shop while *cough* making a delivery*cough* to pick it up!

Gotta say, I really really like this bow. The draw is 1000X better than the M6 and I can't say enough good things about the feel of the Focus grip. Awesome. Finsh is flawless, bow looks fantastic.

28/60#/65%

Specs...out of box
28" DL (measured 28.5) expected
56.4#

Thru on a downforce and dloop and shot thru chrono.
@56.4# and 356gr. arrow shot 283.

After a little tweeking it'll be ready to rock.

I hope to get some shoot time this afternoon if the weatherman is correct about showers, and give a better review of both likes and dislikes......as well as picks.

Shooo is pretty.

How heavy is that sight and what about sight marks? is it hard to dial in?

It is typical Spot hogg. Built like a tank and heavier than most, which I don't mind as I find most bows too light anymore. 14oz to be exact.

Setup is super easy, it looks more daunting than it really is. I had everything eyeballed to drilling X's @ 20 in under 10 min. I have yet to print a sight tape up for it or level 3rd axis. Programs such as OT and AA support both the Boss and Tommy Hogg, as well as the Hogg Father.

I will try to take some close up pics of it and explain what does what later.

Default Back to the bow...

Alright, bow specs and performance after tuning..

28" cam 65% mod
60.7#
g5 meta 3/16"
D loop
358gr arrow wt.
291fps

Pros:

Draw cycle - super smooth all the way thru w/ no noticable peak before dropping into letoff.

String angle - The 33.5" ata is very comfortable at full draw. No neck strain for any of my preferred anchor points.

Bow holds on target great even w/ out the aid of a stabilizer and wall is solid at full draw. I had no problems executing back tension at all.

Once again, the Focus grip is a phenom.

Cons:

There is a slight "cush" or "sponge" feel if you roll into the wall hard. I think this is more a byproduct of the precurved beyond parellel limbs than anything as I stated the wall is solid once at full draw. Not as hard as it could be w/ a draw stop but solid.

The M7 does not come w/ a dead end string stop from Mathews and while it is not really needed, I would recommend adding one. I added a string tamer and it got rid of the vibration shock that was there w/out it. IMO it makes this bow more enjoyable to shoot.

The 65% mods are blue? why blue? every other accent on the bow is red, why not make them red? Reaching I know but hey, I'm trying to list everything lol!

Conclusion: I am very happy w/ this bow. Lots of fun to shoot and in my short time of shooting a very accurate platform and for me is confidence inspiring. Will make a heck of a 3D rig for sure. If I did not already own a Z7 (which I am also happy w/) I would buy another M7 in 70# for hunting in a heartbeat.

Kent is pounding with the M7. We has the garden hose o-rings hanging on the wall from our league banquet. He was consistently hitting them. Try that some time. It's a lot of fun and harder than it looks.
