According to the interview Dave gave, he said he lost his two main sponsors hoyt and easton. He really wasn't happy with the way he shot but he still won.
Should be interesting to see how things progress for Dave from here on out. Wonder if another company will try to pick him up.
Oh wait was that a DB typo, you mean he won... now I see, never mind.

I would hardly consider OBT over on AT a believable source...he was just trying to stir things up.......

I feel Dave will be back shooting a Hoyt soon and on staff. I bet things get all back to the way it was.

Who says they pay all events. Not very many US guys in that event. Big event was in the US this weekend and Logan Wilde won and his brother got second.
DB
Winner of the 2010 Big Sky Tournament by beating out his brother.
Ended up with a pretty good pro field this year:
Logan Wilde
Reo Wilde
Josh Schaf
Rob Morgan
Duane Price
Tim Gillingham
Bill Pelligrino
Ray Tenbrook
Brandon Reyes

Well I HEARD that Dave was on a 'Time Out' from Hoyt/Easton. Kind of like a probation was what I heard.
Really though, how does this affect how we shoot? AT is getting bad from the gossipy bottom feeders to the top of the food chain flying around in their black helicopters. Its getting to be off my radar. Maybe just to sell and trade anymore. I'd hate to see this place get like that.
Dave's an amazing talent that raised the bar for the new crop of top dog pro's. His career will be looked at as an important stepping stone for archery in the future for sure.
He's won Vegas twice, right?

I thought folks were more than good at AT. No ones ever said Dave is not a good archer. Most his peers respect his shooting ability. But that still doesnt change his behavior at the world cup event. Will Dave change his ways, most likely not and Ill bet will hear more of this behavior in the future.
Most of us have come to figure it going to continue. I doubt Hoyt or Easton drops him.

He is not with them according to what he said in Germany. He is also not on their site.
I hope he gets everything worked out because he is an excellent archer and very fun to watch. At least for me. I am not going to judge him or anything because I was not there and do not know the whole story. Just what has been spread around.
If what he did was against the rules and they suspend or ban him then so be it. They know more about the incidents than we do and he would have to pay for his actions.

a lot of people on this forum know more about what went on then you think,,,,, they/we cant say a whole lot. Due to the economy, sponsership is hard to retain, and even harder to initially get....

Cool. That is why I said I am not going to judge him. I was not there. I do not know what the other people did that were involved in this and so on.

I don't care how many US guys were in the event. I seen several Hoyt bows with Hoyt shooter shirts there. Along with Mathews.
Shoot em' up Dave...................

Dave is just a man like everybody else, and we make mistakes....Im sure he would take back what he did if he could....but he cant....he should just learn from his mistake and try to make it right the next time this type of situation presents itself....The only one who has any right to judge a man for his actions is the MAN upstairs....Well thats my 2 cents...

Actually , anyone can get a contingency check from them. All you have to do is show up, register with them at the shoot, and , win.
Nothing they can do about it. You do not have to be on the staff to get a contingency winning.

You know whats freaky about the whole thing...... is I have a pic of a doe that I shot in 2007 that looks exactly like the pic in Dbbllunger's avatar! I had to look close as it is almost exactly like the pic I took of a doe I shot that decided to bed 15 yards from my stand.
Dave who now?
