Default 400 # buck

Anyone hear anything about a huge 400# buck taken in Maine ? Would like
to see a picture if possible. Then hear everyone's take on it.

someone texted me the pic, and it looks real. i would believe it considering i know a guy personally who took a buck that weighed in the 330 range.

He's a hogg for sure. Yes it could be a computer enhanced picture - it could
also be real. Time will tell, I think I'll save my laughter until the jury returns

I don't doubt a Maine deer could get that body size, but I do question the antlers.
I remember one called the Hinkley deer from the late 60s or early 70s that was 300 or so dressed. It was in Sports Afield or Illustrated. We had that copy at camp.
But to have antlers to match that body is a stretch I think.

Well you didnt know... theres plenty of deer pics that are photoshoped and killed on them pin farms never know what your looking at..
but..i do have a video of the largest whitetail every killed by a woman..and it went 400lbs plus killed in minisota by a woman and her husband that owned a 400acre farm they just hunt for meat and take a few deer every year off there farm had seen this buck for a few years getting bigger and bigger the husband finally seen him and got his wife to take him with her rifle...its on one of the first~monster bucks videos..there is no video of the kill only the producer visiting the farm and the woman and 3 guys standing behind this monster in a pic...the buck had like a 26inch spread scored in the 200+ range was a 10pt with 2 kickers but was huge in the horns 2 like 7&1/2 inch bases..if you get a chance you should see this pic..its real and free range..and went in the record books as the largest whitetail every recorded taken by a woman....

Here's the picture. What a hog.
This guy is either 3ft tall or that's one huge buck.

Yep, go to this site and look at the 4th row in the "Trophy Gallery". As far a I'm concerned it's not a "real" deer.

I suppose a whitetail, mule deer, etc. can be raised in a controlelled area then turned lose for slaughter - just like fattening up a farm animal

Don't get me wrong - I like the idea of fattening up a beef or hog for harvest. Just doesn't seem the same with animals you hunt.

Again, not saying this form of hunting is wrong - it's just not for me

Now, I don't even want to mention the picture of the 700# bear that was killed by a corn combine or the fella up North who raised a moose/raindeer crossbreed and now uses it for pulling a sleigh You've got to admit, this kind of story does break up the day

The largest whitetail ever recorded by state scales is 511 LBS. It's definitely possible but I don't know about this one.

I grew up in Maine hunting all my life and ive seen some pretty big deer. There are plenty pf places a deer can hide allowing himself to have the time to grow.
