I have a TRU Ball release that I love! But the little screw that adjusts the release comes loose everytime I shoot. Should I just super glue it in place? or is there a better alternative so I don't have to tighten it back up every 15-20 shots? I don't want to glue it so well that I can never adjust it again
Well sometimes on small screws such as the ones in a release you can actually just use some string wax on the threads of the screw and it will hold it from comming loose. It seems to be just tacky enough to hold it without making it difficult to remove the screw.
If that doesn't work you can try dripping a drop or two of wax from a burning candle down in the threads. If those two methods don't work then clean out the threads good( get the wax out) and try some of the blue loctite. DO NOT USE THE RED LOCKTITE.
GOOD LUCK.
Oh one more thing. If there is room you can sometimes run another screw down on top of the first one and that locks it in place.
A little fingernail polish will do it. Back out the screw and feed a little on the threads and tighten.
While you got that finger nail polish out (clear) it does a real good job of waterproofing your sight tape too. I always put a good coat of it on my sight tapes when I print them out.
I called them a few years ago on a similiar issue and was told to put a very small amount of BLUE loc tite on the screw and then wipe 90% of that off and re-insert the screw to the proper place and allow the loc tite to set up. I still have this release and have not had the issue since. I can also adjust that screw and it stays put.
The BEST solution is to call TRU Ball and send it back. They will either fix it or send you a new release.
will agree 100%. if you just bought it then send it back they will take good care of you.
