I had a friend make a great point this morning.

"Interesting to see how the people of Japan are handling their disaster compared to those that were victims of Katrina. No looting or shooting reported so far? And I dont hear them blaming the the disaster on the government."

We have serious "entitlement" issues in this country.

It is amazing! No looters, No gangs running amok, No blaming of the US for it.Amazing what a differant culture can be!

Unreal, makes the damage done by Katrena look small.

Is this a look into the future of our west coast? I betting we wouldn't be near as civilized if that happened to one of our most populated cities.

God help the People in Japan.

I hope you've made plans and prepared enough supplies to be self sufficient for a few days............just incase.

My church is HUGE on being prepared and preach food/emergency preparedness often....I am still trying to slowly gather my preparation. I AM 70 miles from the coast, but depending where I am at if an earthquake hits, won't be bad unless I am in the city (15 miles away)

Funny thing....I think about an earthquake EVERY time I drive over the bridges in downtown Portland, get just a tad stressed and feel the need to get off the bridges as fast as possible
