Default Is 3 lbs a noticeable difference in draw weight??

I received my GT500 today and the person who I bought it from said that the bow tops out at 63# My Z28 was set at 60lbs and this bow seems way to easy to draw, definitly 60 but not heavier as I can hold it longer fully drawn. I tried to tighten the limb bolts down all the way but they were already down all the way. I know I wont know for sure until I put it on a scale but is there a different way to increase the draw weight without tightening the limbs?

yes , given the same bow. a 57# Bow with agressive cams might fell like a 60# bow with medium cams however.

Default depends......

if your struggling to pull 60 pounds then 63 pounds is going to be a killer.

If 60 pounds is easy and you go up to 63 pound then you probably won't be able to tell the difference.

I might have misuderstood the question, but I believe you are saying the new bow (gt500) which should be 63# feels easier to draw than your 60# z28.
You are asking if there is a weigh to increase the weight besides tightening the limb bolts. IF that is the question the answer is yes...twists in the cables will increase the draw weight and lengthen the draw. Taken twist out of the string does the same...but to less of a degree.

I have noticed when I get a new bow and I am expecting it to feel heavier...it feels lighter, I think largely b/c I pull more aggressively. I also find the way a cam loads will impact my perceived sense of the weight. From a holding weight point of view this is not much difference between 60 and 63 pounds.

From what I remember about these two bows, the GT500 should be a harder draw than the Z28. Assuming they are set at the same weight. The Z28 was really smooth on the draw.

WELL, after all is said and done the bow topped out at 60# and not the 63# I was told (not tragic just slightly dissapoited) SO thats why it felt so easy/similiar to the Z28 which topped out at 61#. I also chronoed the bow, it shot a 344g arrow, 27" draw at 60# att 277, which I was a little bit more dissapointed about. I was really hoping for some faster arrow speed but its alright. After I get my destroyer up and poppin we shall see what kind of speed I get with that bow. Just to clarify I am NOT a speed freak I just hunt with 1 pin and the flatter I can get my arrow to fly the more effective I feel I will be.

The Destroyer will be in a whole different class than the above bows.
