I remenber durning WW2 just about ever thing was rationed and you had to have a ration book with stamps in it for different items for each month to get anything.meat,butter,milk,coffee,leather goods,coal,tires,oil,gas.cigarettes. people would trade stamps. someone that didnt smoke might trade their cig. stamp for a sugar stamp or meat stamp.or what ever. one thing I remenber is my mother in a long line for sugar. there was a black lady in front of my mother and when she got up to the counter the man said we are out of sugar. the lady left and mom said say your out of sugar. he said no we got sugar niggers dont need any.
