Default Cam protector

Is anybody familiar with the HeDog Archery cam protector? Just wondering if adding over 2 ounces of hardware to the the bottom limb of your bow will affect the performance? Seems like it would rob speed and kinetic energy? Looks like a great product for cam protection but I don't to lose bow performance, any thoughts?
