whats the biggest turkey any of you guys have shot with a bow? and did you have the blind set out in the open? cause i have a hard time believing that the turkeys dont pay any attention to a blind out in the field.

I've never drawn on a turkey with a bow; Had shots twice and passed hoping The Princess would get a shot at them (didn't work aout that way); had 6 in bow range last fall buy no open shots. I gun hunt spring and bow hunt fall so I'm usually elevated when bowhunting them. Turkeys don't care about a blind right out in the open. Had deer spook in that situation but turkeys come within 15-20yds of it.

I haven't bothered with turkeys myself, but have a co-worker who does with success. He also uses a blind, a DB. He's had a couple body shot birds get away from him, and now he only aims at the base of the neck. Hit it with any B-head and bird down. He's shot them with fixed and mechanicals. He'll throw that blind up about anywhere, so I don't think it matters much to birds.

I have never gone with a bow. spent 2 days the last two years with the SG. but here we have a serious lack of birds in comparison to 10 years ago. I will probably get out for another two this year and have been considering taking the bow.
