Gator, Elite suggests 2 speed knocks top and bottom. Duane has 6 top and bottom.

This is going to be hard to believe but I'm alittle confused.
Did Hutch build the strings with the speed knocks or did you add them after you got them?
and the all important question......did you get anymore speed with the extra?

they will give you more speed. I played around with them some. I got 3 to 4fps more with them. but you cant put them on just any were. you
need a chono and adjust them up and down untill you find the sweet spot.

Gator, most manufacturers find the sweet spot and add them or record where they go. Elite says they use 2 upper and lower on the string. If you have a chrono and some time, you can find out how many top and bottom will give you more speed. Duane did the work on his old string and I added them in the same place on the new string.
Now not all bows benefit. Some single cams can benefit as well. Mine did with only 2 near the cam. I advance tuned mine and added 2 speed nocks. I went from 276fps to 281fps some where around there if I remember right.

Ha ha look who wishes they had a decoder ring now.. ....
My elite came factory with 2 knocks top and bottom. Then i got board and experimited with the speed knocks, went from shooting 293 to 300 by adding 4 more to the top and bottom of string. But it took alot of trial and error, placed them in diffrent places and lost speed untill the sweat spot was found. Then when hutch built my new set i told him were to place them..

You own a Hoyt too ?
I believe if I could have just one bow of my choice , knowing that a Jennings Buckmaster is the best , I'd have a Hoyt Ultratec with the 3000 limbs in 60lb. and than as a second choice is a Hoyt Protec with the 60lb . 3000 , 3500 , 4000 or XL limbs !
I'd make my Jennings Buckmaster a 4th choice after a Jennings X-master ( with the longer limbs ) bow in the 3rd spot !
Now you know and you are !

A little known fact !
You can hardly give painted bows away where I live , as anyone interested in a painted bow , always end up buying new !
