I am pretty sure is is aluminum. Its very lightweight. It is anodyzed black.
It just spreads the string further than a peep would. It spreads it almost an inch. You just see your site pin when you pull it back. clear, no obstruction or twisting issues like I have had with my peeps in the past.
I love it.
I tried shooting without a peep in the past, just wth bare string and used both eyes to peripherally see thru it. This had limited success for me. I recently installed this a few weeks ago and have had alot of time to use it.
At first it looked awkward on the string and thought it might make whiffling noise when string went off, but with proper tuning it doesnt.
I personally love it.
I just spoke to the manufacturer earlier today as I called them. They are supposed to release their new 07 series of compound bows. He told me Keith Beam of Double Bull Blinds was going to the Mathews Pro Invitational shoot and was going to use it there for his team of shooters. All of the Double Bull team apparently is using them for this event. They are also going to use them on a Caribou hunt coming up as well. I can see how this would benefit them in that type of circumstance, longer distance.
Nice folks at Sterner Duttera. I guess I need to put one on my other 2 bows now too. Wouldnt want my back up bow not to have one in the event I need it.
Thanks Chris. It seems that this thing is gaining some popularity. I do use it and shoot Sterner Duttera bows. Have for over ten years. The manufacturers are nice people who have replaced everyhting I have ever broken at no charge. So they came out with a new product. Big deal. I looked around and it is on Archery Talk and it wasnt me who posted it. Some guy named GWonder that makes custom strings.
I guess more than one customer likes it.
To clarify, I am not spamming.
I think Carter Releases are awesome, Truwoods camo, Sterner Bows, Shakespeare Fishing Rods, SteelForce Broadheads (and muzzy), Walmart Rubber brown Boots, and Woolrich SOCKS ROCK....and i dont work for any of them.
Yes, it does work. I didnt know if it would or not at first....but it does.
I went to the site again today and they did add a Q&A to it, and you can also get the installation instructions on there too.
It wasnt hard at all, and I did my own myself. I had to fool with it a bit, but i got it.
It doenst really weigh anything. I dont have a Chrono machine or know any cops that can speed trap my arrow so I cant prove anything on my end yet...but the site claims only 4 to 6 feet per second loss of speed as opposed to a bare string.
Take a look at the site link I am copying and at the bottom is has a whole slew of QA stuff that might help.
