total noob

hi
i am a total beginer to archery and im interested in making my own laminated recurve bow. the problem is not constructing it however, as i am very good at wood working and have looked at some plans and lots of pictures. Having never owned my own bow, i dont know which side of the bow the arrow goes on when you shoot it. I have seen it both on the left and right side and dont know which one is for a right handed shooter(holding the bow with my left hand)

A right handed bow has the rest on the left side.
