Opinions on HHA?
As tons of people have them for hunting should you allow HHA sliders in the hunter class???? Just wondering?

No probably should not be allowed in the hunter class. It is a movable and can be set at 33 yards or 37 yard or whatever.

I agree
Movable needs to stay in freestyle classes. Excellant sights.

I see your point, I just know alot of the people around here using them have them set at 20-30-40-50 and other than guessing where 35 or 36 or 37 is they would not really have a way of getting down to those yardages.
And yes they are great sights DB

2 of the guys I shoot with use them and they have them marked every 5 yrds. When it comes to 37 they just split the difference between 35 and 40, or go alittle less for 36. It can be done accurately, with a fast bow +/- 1 yrd wont hurt.

Nope
HHA have good sights, but fixed pins are fixed pins and sliders should not be allowed in the "Hunter Class".
I know a lot of people that have sliders on their bows, but these are the same people that use their 3D bow as their hunting bow. Just a question to anybody who cares, if you do have a slider on your bow for hunting, how many times do you actually move it? For instance-- On my hunting set-up I only use 1 fixed pin sight set at 20 yards.

O.k. so what about the guys using the Sure lock Sidewinder and special ops?
Both have fixed pins and both slide......??? I think the HHA triple threat also has 3 fixed pins and slides. I am not trying to get and tail feathers ruffled I was just wondering if there were any exact rules to go by or if it was a judgement call?

Bowman you ruffle tail feathers just by signing on so what is a few more? The way I see it is if you hunt with it then its a hunting sight. So legal for Hunter Class but I am very new to 3D so my opinion does not matter very much. These rules go way beyond getting together with some friends and having some fun.

The local coalition I belong to has two different hunting classes with the same maximum yardage. The Bowhunter Class requires three fixed pins or less. The Advanced Bowhunter Class allows for movable HHAs and other movable sights.
I hunt with an older model HHA. For approximately one month prior to opening day and throughout the season, I practice with the sight set at 25yards from 6-7 feet out to 40 yards (on the ground level and from treestand height). That way if a situation arises where I don't have the oppurtunity to change the sight, I know the rise/drop of the arrow. Of course this is dependent upon pre-ranged yardages determined with a rangefinder.
