Mathews, the #1 bow company in the world, introduces the new-for-2008 DXT, its latest SlimLimb bow. The DXT gives you the perfect balance of excessive power and exceptional accuracy. What is different about the new DXT?

It's shorter - At just 29 3/4' axle-to-axle, the DXT is terrific in tight quarters.
It's lighter - At just 3.75lbs, the DXT will be a welcome companion on the trek up the mountain or across the cornfield.
It's faster - At 322 fps, the DXT gives you the perfect balance of excessive power and exceptional accuracy.

'Thin is in' and the DXT's SlimLimbs give the bow a streamlined appearance and result in less, unnecessary weight. SlimLimbs are also tough. The DXT's SlimLimbs are constructed of next generation SE4 composite and last typically twice as long as traditional, lifetime-guaranteed limbs.

The DXT will feature Mathews' new Lost Camo. The exclusive new camouflage pattern designed specifically with bowhunters in mind.

Longer ATA and smaller grip..................is this not what hunters have been asking for???

Shorter ATA for those who like shorter bows.

New Camo pattern.

Now the question is..............are they coming out with a target bow this year???

The S2 seems a bit weak, it's exactly the same bow as the switchback except 1/2 # lighter. The DXT was a let down for me at first, I don't think it is a bad bow, and once you start looking at it they did come out w/ a skimmer grip which is nice. Lets face it, the bow could have been anywhere from 26 ata - 38 ata and as long as it said, 335-340fps, everyone would be thrilled, me included. But eh, Thats really the only thing Mathews didn't give this yr. longer ata bow, slimmer grip thats what alot of guys wanted. I will be holding out for next yr. though. Nothing tripped my trigger this yr. from any manufacture, except maybe the Elite Fire and I've already got the Prestige so theres really nothing there for me either. Same old same old from everyone.

not for me, how it feels when it goes off is number one for me, then feel in the hand.....

SPEED is 3rd.....

I'm just curious. Would like to know how others feel.

I do know that price is a very important factor. That is why I shot the same bow for 10 years. Savin my pennies.

I am probably going to buy a Mathews bow this year, I don't know which one yet. I shoot a Bowtech Tribute now and it is plenty fast to get the job done. You can only find out so much shooting at a pro shop, I need to get it in a tree and see how the Mathews feels.

My son killed his first deer this year with a Tomkat shooting 30" @ 62 lbs with a 400 grn arrow and had no problem getting a passthrough, going through 2 ribs on a 120 lb doe with a 3 blade rage. This was at 30 yds.

Speed is no good if you can't control it. But there are alot of people that will be in line to buy the latest and geatest just to have it.

I just got back from my local shop, and I shot the DXT. Personally, I didn't like the bow. Not saying that it is a bad bow, but it isn't the bow for me. Here are my thoughts...

"Lost Camo"... I liked the camo. Not bad looking at all. The camo wouldn't stop me from buying the bow.

The new cam looks like it will be a lot easier on the serving then the Dren is.

I really didn't care for the 29 3/4" ata. A little short for my taste.

I shot the bow at 65 pounds, and it was absolutely dead in the hand, and quiet, with just a rest on the bow.

The shop bow maxed out at 71 pounds. 29"@71lbs, with a 351 grain arrow, the bow consistently shot 308-310.

The thing that I really didn't care for about the bow was the draw cycle. It really stacked up toward the end of the draw. In my opinion, no where near as smooth drawing as the dren, or the xt. But, the bow was a bit long for me, but everyone that shot the bow while Iwas there agreed.

I'm sure some people are gonna love the bow, and i'm sure some are gonna hate it. I'm leaning toward the Dren LD personally.

Thanks Dan!!! I was pretty dissapointed too. Looks like I'll be shooting a blueberry Dren LD for 3d this year, unless they come out with another bow. I also played with a Hoyt Katera today at the shop. What a smooth drawing bow! The draw cycle stays consistent from beginning to end of the draw cycle.
