Default Updated Information...

With technology advancing as fast as it does all around us, how quickly does archery advice/information get outdated?

Maybe we should have auto thread deleting after so many years?

The bows have'nt changed much. Still using either single, dual, or hybrid cams.
I wish the big 4 or 5 would keep their limb/cam charts available forever for those of us who dabble.
No on the auto delete unless it can filter out BS/regular chit-chat.
I would like to preserve bow tuning info for all of the bows that are still out there.

It seems to me that very little in archery is ever new, it's just recycled and run threw a spin machine and call new again. Maybe it is updated alittle or alittle different design but most new stuff I see out there at one time has already been done.

The equipment changes faster then one can anticipate, but the training fundamentals and form stay solid and true one generation to the next.

Hello folks

Hello JDX,

So true on the fundamentals and form. For me I just enjoy seeing the flight of the arrow hitting it's mark. Don't care to much about what I use to get it out there, be it a compound bow, longbow, and crossbow it still gets me pumped up. Now only if they would design a GPS tracking device to load into these high dollar carbon arrows to help me retrieve them after a miss.LOL
This pic is of a buck shot from a good friend that came into town and I let him have my stand opening day. I told him it was a good spot, He believes me now.

I would think that all information should be retained and available to pass on to future generations. If you think about it, we still use the fundamentals that were thought of years and years ago. Sorta like Gator eye said...most of it just gets recycled, spun up some and a new and improved version comes out, but the foundation is still basically the same. And I agree with the idea of manufacturing companies keeping the information on older equipmrent. With the technology of data storage these days, you could probably store all of this information on a micro SD card and keep it on your smartphone. It would be nice to be able to filter out the garbage tho. Just my .02

Talking A little known fact !

I shoot some old compound bows , but own some of the latest arrow rest , vibration systems and sights !

I just seem to have to have the latest in those three categories of archery stuff and may never be able to afford a new bow again !

I brought sights that cost more than the bow the sight has been put on is worth !

Now you know and you are !

I can't give out any details of that new weapon , as it's been loan to me as it's a prototype and is still in the developing stages !

Many bow companies would do anything to end any more developing of this miracle weapon , besides it's a cold weather weapon , otherwise it might thaw and disappear leaving a wet mess , that why I keep it in my freezer !
