just getting started

I'm just getting into bow hunting and my wife wants to try it also. We are both long time rifle hunters. Need help on what to get. Have used PSE G-Force bow that was given to me .Bare bow no sights or rest or stablizer.What types should I be looking at. We have a deer season thats 4 1/2 months long and hunt alot in the evening.

First thing is find someone to make sure that the bow you have is in proper shooting condition. And, that the bow fits your draw length needs.

Where is SC are you. Maybe someone could tell you where a good archery shop is nearby.

beware of that bow, not a good one for someone to start out with I am afraid. Was a PSE dealer-shop tech a few years ago and we sold a few of those, trying to recall which way that bow recoils, I could be wrong but i beleive it is backwards. Not for the faint of heart, dont get me wrong was super fast, of course w/ a 2 and 1/2 inch brace height you could make any bow fast.

But I would not want you to get discouraged too soon and decide to give it up. Like to see as many people shooting bows as I can.

Once you find yourself a reputble pro-shop; have the salesman show you some bows with an axle to axle atleast 36 inches and a brace height atleast 7 inches.

And above all make sure the bow fits your drawl length. If you have a friend close to you that is knowledgable about archery have him or her tag along.
