Bowhunting Pointer
With turkey season around the corner for many and already under way for many....I'd like to remind people too practice holding at full draw for as long as possible holding pin on target.
I was playing last night and it seems after about 30 seconds, my pin is all over the place and when your pin is floating everywhere, you have a tendency to punch the trigger as soon as it floats over your target. Don't do dat. Practice holding. Turkeys are a lot like Coyotes, sometime they never stop moving.

SWEET....HIGH FENCE ROCKS.......
I hope its high SMALL fence.....I figure if it has a roof on it, and is like 2' X 2' you should be able to get it in less than 3 shots......depends on the wind though

This is just a note to say how much I've appreciated the Slippy/Bunny wars today. It has been an above average effort. Carry on.

Hey bud, don't be so hard on yourself, I don't think you are sucky, loser.....well...probably. Try high fence first. Once you get that success under your belt, you will have all the confidence in the world when you go out and do the real deal.
My buddies all gun hunt, so when I go, I go with them and when I miss, they serve mop up duty with their big bad turkey guns. I'm a virgin at turkey hunting with a bow, so yes, it could be ugly this year. We'll find out shortly. Problem is, I'll probably only get out 4-5 times when I do get out. Best thing about Ohio Season, we have to quit at noon, so we can start drinking earlier than as if we had to hunt all day.

They are tough in the fall. You pretty much have to guess where they are going to walk out, you can't really call them.

Chippy, I think you will do just fine. Just don't go on a "windy" day.
Might want to try it with a gun first. Be safe have fun and, aim high.

I tried with the bow last year and failed..I ended up killing my bird with a gun..I drew back on two Toms and they were gone before I found my peep..I dont like the whole ground blind thing for turkeys. This year Im going back to running and gunning becasue its fun!

I'll tell you guys what else, if you are going to bowhunt out of a blind, practice out of it! They way I was shooting yesterday on a chair in the blind....I'm thinking...man....I hope they get close....REAL CLOSE! I should have started practicing sooner out of the blind. The first hunt is slated for Saturday.

I'm too fat to run around carrying all that crap but I suppose if I have to I will. I got a bow, decoys, 2 chairs, a blind, and a cooler to lug.

I'm willing to bet about anything that greenhorn Jessica takes a big longbeard this year with his bow, while you shoot a little jake with your little shotgun?

I'm okay with that. If he beats me, he deserves his first date. But I'm not too worried about Archie and his mom picking up my sitter in their station wagon.

Don't know who that is. Have your mom run you by anyway and I can show you what a real bow looks and shoots like.
