Interesting concept. I saw it at the ATA show. I haven't tried it or seen anyone shooting it yet.

I reckon it would work if you had steel inserts and your knocks tuned. The only other one I have ever saw is the one Chris was talking about he has a pic of it on here somewhere.

Default Grouping

Have heard grouping may be an issue but I have no personal experience with it. My only concern is the natural movement we all have as we aim - I have to believe the magnets do not have a powerful enough pull to hold the arrow centered 100% of the time. I would think there is some 'wag' the arrow goes through as you move - the more you move the more you wag.

See the rest doesnt work on magnetic attraction, but repulsion. Go to their site and take a look at it http://www.air-rest.com/home.htm
Im just wondering if it would be consistant?
It just boggles my mind!
Whats next?

these magnets are very strong...at full draw you can have someone push the middle of the arrow and watch it bend and the tip wont touch the rest.you can move all you want and the arrow is not effected at all and the wind doesnt even come close to moving the arrow.the only ways that the arrow will move is either you shoot it or creep too far forward or over draw but if you have a solid wall you dont have to worry about that.i am getting groups every bit as good with this rest as i am with any other rest.

While it is an interesting concept, a lot of work still needs to be done to develop it to a point where it is usable by most of us.

When you draw, you have to draw to a very pricise point because the opposite polarized magnet inside the arrow is quite short. You have about 1/4" between up and down. If you creep forward just a little, the arrow will drop.

The magnet inside the arrow is fairly heavy, so it may not be usable with some arrows. You will have to check spine and length on the arrows that you used with this rest. However, it will tune with a significantly greater range of arrow spines.

When you draw, the point vibrates for a second or so. If you shoot during this period of movement, you will get a bad shot. However, if you are shooting this fast, you are probably getting bad shots anyway. This is interesting to watch, but in the real world, it's not a problem.

It's currently expensive. I've heard prices well over $100.

Maybe when they can develop this rest a little more and get the price down, but not now.

good post....their are things that stu is trying to make better as we speak.he is trying to make it more "user friendly" because most people arent target shooters and their form may let them creep forward which will drop the arrow.he has different prototypes that are being tested that will answer the main complaints about the rest.he is also trying to make it so it doesnt cost as much but yet make it perform better.i think it will be fine for everyone soon.
