A little known fact !

Well there were some of those RAGBRAI ladies with them and they all sat near to yours trully . As they order , the big deal was how few miles some of them have been riding as they discussed this out loud ! One excellant looking young lady who was in her mid twenty says " I've only ridden about 34 miles so far " ( note that RAGBRAI is about 7 days and around 500 miles total ) . The rest add their low milage , never discussing the fact that every moment when their not eating , sleeping or working , they no doubt are on a trainer ( such as the one that I own and don't use ) and are more than ready !  I'm going to out smart 'em this year and ride the 3rd , 4th and maybe the 5th days , as those first two are all hills ( a record the second day on RAGBRAI , in " my " neck of the woods ) .  So bring it on Ladies of RAGBRAI ,  as I will be ready , I hope !  I'll try to get photos !

They had a documentary on TV a bout this yesterday. Do you dip your tires in the river? It seems like it is a pretty big deal. I didnt see the whole thing but it sure looked like there were a BUNCH of people that do it.

A little known fact !
I had to go all the way to Omaha , Nebraska to buy some eggbeater pedals for one of my spare road bikes and brought gas at $3.43 !

I have two daughters , who are married with children !
The youngest one ( 30 years old ) wants to bike with yours trully next year on RAGBRAI , there goes the looking  at all those lady's buns as they pass me !My son ( 35 ) was in Hawaii with his wife , but may be with me next year !

Can't believe I came back to this thread !
But yesterday my employer had us peons fill out a survey on the company , and they asked what group of people do I belong to .
They were 1= Hispanic , Latino group 2 = Other ( this was broken down to another 5 groups in the next question , if I answered yes ) I now am other
