Getting "proper" equipment

I'm always hear people saying about getting proper arrows for your bow and rests, fletching and other epuipment but will the small changes like arrow type really affect your shot if your shooting bare bow. or is it just being a perfectionist?

and i don't have the best equipment. And i'm doing ok so i do not think certain equipment would matter to much.

don't know just stateing my opinion.
just use what feels best.

Geoff,

It depends on how accurate you wish to be. And, what you are trying to accomplish with your bow rig. Small changes are can be a big part of accuracy.

If you are shooting a bare bow, you can still have issues with arrows, fletchings, and rests. All of these are part of the rig. Your bow rig will need certain things depending on the set up.

Let's say your bow is a 50# @ 28" long bow with fingers and off the shelf. And, you intend to hunt with it. You have selected a huge heavy broadhead. And, you have selected the Blazers vanes and a super lite arrow with a spine of 500......You would be in trouble. The package would not be matching or compatible. Your accuracy would flounder.

Paying attention to detail is a good thing....But, you can over think it. Feed the bow what it likes. And, make sure all the components match up.

what about using a fork rest if your shooting fingers even though its for a trigger release?

dose it even matter?

Wait, what bow or equipment are u using? Compund? Recurve? Longbow? For one ALL your arrows should be identical in terms of length, weight and diameter, as far as I know, as different types of arrows will screw up your consistency. Btw, you should only shoot barebow if you're using a longbow

It is not good to shoot fingers with this type of rest. You need side pressure on the arrow to shoot fingers. The arrow is going to flex to the left and right as it leaves the bow when shooting fingers. This is why you need a plunger style or a rest that can support the side of the arrow.

Funny I shoot barebow compound and recurve, but don't shoot longbow.

thx ALOTE i'v always wondered about that and no one could give me a good answer. it helps alot
